About Us

What we do

The New York State Longitudinal Data System Technical Assistance Center provides training and assistance to Regional Information Centers and Big 5 City School Districts in support of the New York State Education Department’s initiative to collect and report information to the statewide Longitudinal Data System.

Goals

  1. Develop state vetted training materials for use by the Regional Information Centers and Big 5 City School Districts on P-12 data collection and reporting.
  2. Improve the quality of the data submitted through SIRS by providing more comprehensive and consistent training materials.
  3. Define roles and responsibilities of data team members so that training may be more targeted.
  4. Expand the knowledge base of Regional Information Centers and Big 5 City School Districts so they provide more effective and concise support to District Data Coordinators.
